This wine is a blend of two Georgian authentic and rare varieties, Danakharuli and Tavkveri. The wine is aged for 8 months in Qvevri according to traditional Georgian winemaking method. The grapes are from Shida Kartli region.
Danakharuli Tavkveri blend has a medium ruby color with purple highlights. On the nose, the wine has lively palette of roses, red plums, black cherries, blackberries, blueberries and spicy notes. In taste, the wine has a relatively light body with medium acidity, velvety tannins and good balance. The finish is elegant and reminiscent of licorice notes.
Located in the village of Bolnisi in Kartli region, Barbale Winery is one of the most promising and exciting wineries on the emerging Georgian wine scene. The winery was founded in 2016 and is now managed by enologist Berdia Berishvili. Traditional Georgian and European-style wines are produced here from native grapes from organically grown vineyards in the historic wine regions of Kartli and Kakheti.
